Bruno Mars Meets Spider-Man in Our Catchiest Mash-Up Yet: “That Spidey Life”

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can! And in this case, it turns out that arachnids can bust a move Bruno Mars-style, at least if the latest Nerdist Presents is to be believed. In the spirit of our Beauty and the Beast-meets-Migos mash-up, “Belle and Boujee,” we imagined what it would be like if Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” video had been bitten by a radioactive spider, and the song was all about the trials and travails of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Our musical mad scientists have been hard at work inside Horizon Labs cooking up an unreasonably catchy song and transforming it into a pitch-perfect parody of “That’s What I Like,” animations and all. Basically, this is what we want the end credits of Spider-Man: Homecoming to be, and if it isn’t I’m going to send a strongly worded letter to Kevin Feige asking him to reconsider his egregious mistake.

Here’s the original video for your reference:

It’s a pretty spot-on parody, and who knew that Peter Parker had such great dance moves? Certainly not me, and I’m willing to bet Doctor Octopus has no idea either. And he’s a damn doctor, so you think he’d take notice.

Since it’s so damn catchy, here are the lyrics so you can sing along:

“That Spidey Life”

Hey, hey, hey
Webslingin’ all around Manhattan
Tony Stark What’s hapnin’?
Gotta new suit it’s stylin’
So gon’ and get to snappin’
I pose it for yah playas
Po-pose it for yah
Do a flip then drop a perpetrator
Stop, Stop ‘em for yah
Got an apartment with my Auntie
Old Suit look like Jammies (yep)
Make me an Avenger
Spider-man in that family (Spider-Man!)
You got me if you want me
Tony, got me if you want me
Said recruit me if you want me
Took down Ant-man cuz you wanted to

Dodge all the sneak attacks
I don’t need no eyes on ‘em
It’s that SPIDEY SENSE
Ain’t got no surprise on me
Call me so Amazing, So Spectacularrrr!
Do all that a spider can do!

Webshooters up on my wrist
You know I make it go THWIP
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life

I’m takin’ hits that hurt my ego
Vulture where did he go?
Please don’t tell me secret?
Promise me you’ll keep it, on the low
With great power comes great responsibility!
I promise NYC that I’ll never leave!
Midtown give me guidance
Everyday workin on science
Take a look at those heroes
And tell me who’s the freshest
Is it HER? (is it her?) Is it HE? (is it he?) Say it’s me! (say it’s me) and I’ll agree baby!

Dodge all the sneak attacks
I don’t need no eyes on ‘em
It’s that spidey sense
Ain’t got no surprise on me
Call me so Amazing, So Spectacularrrr!
Do all that a spider can do!

Webshooters up on my wrist
You know I make it go THWIP
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life

You say that I’m the newwwwww guy
Well here I am baby, it’s my HOMECOMING Welcome me, welcome me, welcome me
To the Infinity War! (GO FIND THEM STONES!) If you want me PLEASE come and tell me
Just yell out UNDER-ROOS!
Tell me Tony, tell me, tell me Tony
What you wanna do?!

Webshooters up on my wrist
You know I make it go THWIP
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
Web-wings I’m gliding at night
Silk strings and webbing ALL WHITE That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
That’s how I live that Spidey life that Spidey life
