A BREAKING BAD Fave Returns in New BETTER CALL SAUL Season 3 Promo

Warning: there are potential spoilers ahead for the third season of Better Call Saul. If you don’t want to know who might be back on the series, then stop reading now!

During the second season of Better Call Saul, fans quickly decoded the hidden message in the script titles: “Fring’s Back.” And while Giancarlo Esposito‘s iconic Breaking Bad character was only briefly alluded to in the season 2 finale, Esposito has reprised his role as Gus in a new Better Call Saul season 3 promo video. In this clip, Gus stars in a commercial for his restaurant, Los Pollos Hermanos, as he plays up his public persona to perfection.

Esposito’s original turn as Gus was a career defining performance as he helped create one of the best TV villains in recent memory. As this video reminds us, Gus had the ability to appear warm and friendly, but Breaking Bad fans also witnessed Gus’ quiet and intense brutality and his ruthless streak. Simply put, Gus was truly frightening…and now it appears that the Better Call Saul creative team will be able to tell us more about one of our favorite characters.

It’s widely believed that Gus, or someone who works for him, left the note on Mike’s car in the season 2 finale that told him to hold back from killing Hector. When we finally see Gus on this series, the show will probably explore how Mike came to be working for him as his loyal enforcer. And it’s inevitable that we’ll see the future Saul Goodman, Jimmy McGill, also come under the shadow of Gus’ influence.

Better Call Saul season 3 will premiere this spring on AMC.

Are you eager to see Gus make his return in this prequel series? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
