I’m going to have to keep this short because I’m not in the office. I’m on the road, in a hotel room in New York at the moment. I’ve just spent the entire day in a subterranean “conference center,” at a seminar on talk radio, which is something about which you’re not here to read, so I’ll spare you the details. But down there two floors below street level, cell phone service is close to nonexistent, the only Wi-Fi is of questionable provenance, and 3G, well, forget it. So I’ve been cut off from the outside world most of the day. Anything good happen?

I may not know if anything good happened today, but I do know that good things happened this week, not the least of which happened on Monday, when we had an announcement. This was the week that we were joined in holy partnership with GeekChicDaily.com, and I won’t repeat the whole thing other than to link to the thing here and note that it was a good way to start the week.

That wasn’t the only thing that happened here, though. Why, it almost seems like yesterday… or last Monday… (cue wavy F/X, eerie music):

1. Kyle reviewed the delayed-in-America “The Almost People” episode of That Show, which turned out to have a huge twist ending that… well, I’m not gonna spoil it for you, but it explains some seeming inconsistencies that fans have been wondering about. Not that the episode met with total approval, but it sets up some interesting scenarios.

2. Mindy called attention to “World Wide Knit in Public Day,” with examples including the main character from That Show, plus a TARDIS, which you wouldn’t think would lend itself to being knitted. Apparently, you can knit anything.

3. The podcast featured Seven of Nine herself, Jeri Ryan, who turned out to be very cool, very smart, and very funny. Jonah missed it, and Matt came in late. What were they thinking?

4. Patrick covered the Microsoft and EA presentations at E3, then Ubisoft and Sony. Much to talk about.

5. Kyle posted a new Fright Night trailer that finally showed David Tennant. I’d be more excited if I wasn’t realizing that they’re remaking movies I saw in the theaters when they first came out.

6. As I prepared for my cross-country trip, I found a gorgeous time lapse video of New York. It reminded me of how exciting this place is.

7. They held a rat fashion show as part of a rat convention in New York. By “rat convention,” they meant an actual convention, not what goes on in the subway every day.

8. Danny shared the good news: Matt Smith wil be back for Season Seven of That Show, and there will be a full 14 episodes, according to a tweet by Steven Moffat. Yes, that’s very good news.

9. Matthew B. reviewed Nintendo’s E3 presentation — “Wii U” ?– and got a look at Bioshock Infinite and XCOM. He was impressed. Especially by XCOM.

10. Mindy showed us how to make Green Lantern stuff. She gave us just enough lead time to get it done before the movie opens.

11. Kyle remembered the voice of the Daleks, Roy Skelton, on the occasion of his passing. Yes, someone did that voice. The Daleks aren’t… um, no, forget what I said, they ARE real.

12. Kiala went to E3 and gave us an account that only Kiala could give. And, later, she took a picture of her friends with booth babes. Expressions: priceless.

13. Google celebrated what would have been the legendary Les Paul’s 96th birthday with a playable, recordable guitar Google doodle. Addictive.

14. Jessica reviewed a book about bugs. Creepy, gross, disturbing… I gotta get that.

15. BBC America debuted a YouTube pre-roll ad starring the magic of Chris Hardwick. “Ministry of Laughs” debuts June 18th. Be there.

16. Anjeanette reported on the burgeoning market for breast milk. Extra cash! Not you, guys.

17. Best 80’s TV themes? Ted had some options for you.

18. A guy saved a hot dog from the last Phillies game he saw at the Vet in Philadelphia. The Vet closed in 2003. YOU eat it.

19. Chris shared a clip from The Soup about iCloud. Ironic “quotation mark” gestures! Creepy scoutmasters! Nuclear armageddon!

20. There was a Hostful Podcast, which I have yet to hear because I’m away. I trust it’s spectacular.

21. Matthew G and Becca caught up with Laurel Sprengelmeyer, a/k/a Little Scream, for an interview. Somehow, the talk turned to the Klingon prefix code.

So it was a good week, and in true Nerdist fashion, I ended it Friday evening with a nice big burrito, with chicken and beans and rice and cheese and salsa. Did I enjoy it? Why, yes, I did. Maybe not now, when it feels like I swallowed a bowling ball, but, yes, I did enjoy my burrito. Enjoy yours, and we’ll reconvene shortly.
