Bob Dylan Announces New Album, FALLEN ANGELS, and Tour

Just like a stone, Bob Dylan shows no signs of slowing his roll—the bottom of the hill is still nowhere in sight. The 74-year-old folk singer has just announced a 27-date tour in support of new LP titled, Fallen Angels. The new record will follow Shadows in the Night, Dylan’s 2015 collection of Frank Sinatra covers. Should Fallen Angels be filled with original songs, it will be the songwriter’s first such album since his acclaimed 2012 record, Tempest.

This April, Dylan and his band are set to perform 13 shows in Japan before heading stateside. The US portion of the tour begins on June 4 in Woodinville, Washington and heads east from there, culminating in Gilford, New Hampshire. Dylan’s tour hits mostly pavilions, amphitheaters, and other outdoor venues—perhaps to accommodate the still-colossal voice of tour opener, Mavis Staples. The gospel titan and former darling of The Staples Singers—the first gospel band to ever cover Dylan—will open all of Dylan’s US dates.

You can check out Dylan’s official site for ticket information and future updates. Every pair of tickets will be accompanied by a redemption code for a Fallen Angels CD (except for Indianapolis and Boston, which aren’t part of the promotion).

There’s no release date yet for the album, but you can bet it’s coming soon. Hopefully Dylan gives us a taste of the new record over the next few weeks. Tour information below:
