Horror Film Slashers Are on the Hunt in BLOOD FEST’s Teaser Poster (Exclusive)

Despite the fact many iconic horror slashers built their reputations by going after their target audience, they’ve been embraced by fans and transformed into pop culture icons on the convention circuit. But there would probably be a lot less enthusiasm if the slashers were real and actually killing their fans at the cons. In Rooster Teeth‘s upcoming movie, Blood Fest, three teenagers travel to a film festival and soon find themselves living in a horror movie as the slashers are unleashed on the crowd. Before Blood Fest makes its debut at the SXSW Film Festival next week, we’re happy to exclusively debut a teaser poster for the film by artist Giorgos Goussis.

The characters featured in this poster are presumably just three of the slashers writer and director Owen Egerton created for the project. Robbie Kay, Seychelle Gabriel, and Spider-Man: Homecoming standout Jacob Batalon, portray the trio of horror savvy teens. Rooster Teeth’s Barbara Dunkelman co-stars in the movie alongside Tate Donovan, Nick Rutherford, and Zachary Levi, who gets to play himself.

The new trailer for Blood Fest debuted earlier this week, and it captures the moment the horror becomes all too real for the kids. It’s unclear what the villain’s agenda is beyond the massive bloodletting, but we’re assuming there’s a method behind the madness.

Fans at SXSW can catch the premiere of Blood Fest on Friday, March 9 at midnight at the Stateside Theatre in Austin, Texas. For more info on that screening, check out SXSW’s official site.
