Marvel Legends 12-Inch Line Adds BLACK PANTHER Next Spring

Just in time for his solo movie, Black Panther is getting the deluxe treatment from Hasbro in Spring of 2018, when he’ll get a 12-inch Marvel Legends figure. At one time, that might have been a thing to be feared–there was a while there where the only mass-produced 12-inch figures were deliberately quite basic so they could be sold cheaply in every store. But the Marvel Legends 12-inch line has really started to bring back the quality, with the upcoming Comic-Con exclusive Daredevil a particular standout.

So far, every Marvel Legends 12-inch figure has been based on a classic comics look, but T’Challa here takes definite inspiration from the movie costume with its seams and silver streaks, and his unmasked head has a level of detail unmatched so far in the line.

If you look closely you can see the differences, though–the highlights on his mask, for example, make it look more like an actual panther face. It’s just enough to make you imagine that when he’s done taking on Klaw, maybe he can bring Mowgli back to the Man Village.

(Alternately, since my wife loves cats, it’s a way to get her to approve this purchase. Shhh. Don’t tell her.)

This foot-tall fan of felines will retail for around $50 in most of your favorite stores. Unlike Wakanda, he won’t be shrouded in mist, but he might be so popular you’ll miss him unless you can kick up some cat-like reflexes of your own. Are you ready to claw your way to the nearest toy store for him? Tell us in comments.
