In just two weeks, Black Panther will roar into theaters and introduce new fans to the high tech wonderland of Wakanda. Thanks to the movie, Hasbro has already lined up Black Panther toys and figures for kids, but they haven’t forgotten adults that like to buy toys, too. So the toy company has unveiled a first look at a Black Panther helmet that was clearly made with older fans in mind.
Via ComicBook.com, Hasbro released the first pictures of the Marvel Legends Series Black Panther helmet, which is “adjustable to fit most heads.” That’s toy speak for “adults can wear this.” And considering that it’s going for $100, only adults can afford it! That said, it looks almost cosplay ready.
If you look at the enlarged version of this picture, it’s easier to see the level of detail that went into the mask beyond the light effects and the “slip-up eye lenses.” For comparison’s sake, this is what the Black Panther Vibranium Power FX Mask looks like. There’s no question which one was intended for kids.
Will Hasbro be able to sell the Marvel Legends Series Black Panther helmet with such a high price point? Probably. The latest tracking for Black Panther‘s opening weekend box office has it potentially hitting $150 million. That suggests that there’s a bent up demand for this movie, that only got stronger after the early reactions hit a few days ago. Sadly, this Black Panther helmet won’t be out in time for the movie, as Hasbro plans to sell it in the fall. But for their sake, Hasbro should probably make sure to release it before Halloween. Somehow, we suspect that Black Panther’s going to be a very popular costume this year.
