BLACK MIRROR Featurette Showcases Storytelling Style

We know that if you clicked on this article you’re probably already a die-hard Black Mirror fan and just want to soak up all the information that you can about the hit Netflix show. And while this featurette will certainly add to your growing obsession with the show, it also just might be the thing you show to people in your life to get them as hooked on it as you are.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve already watched the latest season of Black Mirror more than a few times and recognized almost everything in this BTS featurette. However, what’s really interesting is the insight we’re given by the show’s writer/creator, Charlie Brooker, as he explains what he wanted for his sci-fi anthology series. He didn’t want to create the type of long-form storytelling over multiple seasons that’s so popular these days. Instead, he was inspired to make something like the one-off tales on late night TV that left him saying “What the hell was that?” If you’ve seen any episode of Black Mirror, then you know he’s certainly accomplished that goal.

Black Mirror producer Annabel Jones also explains how season four is full of firsts for the show. One being “Arkangel“, the show’s first episode set in America, which was directed by Jodie Foster. And the first black and white episode, “Metalhead,” which accentuates the clean-cut human vs. machine struggle of the story it tells.

Brooker also points out how there’s now an explicitly shared universe for the show, so let’s all set to work on giving it a proper name because “Black Mirror-verse” just doesn’t seem to do the show justice. Let’s hear your best suggestions in the comments below!
