Billy Crystal’s 700 SUNDAYS to Premiere on HBO April 19th

HBO has a lot of exciting comedy coming up on its programming slate this year, including Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley, featuring the likes of Kumail Nanjiani and T.J. Miller premiering soon. And now, there’s a premiere date for comedian, actor, author, and America’s favorite Oscars host Billy Crystal‘s Tony Award-winning one man show, 700 Sundays, which will debut on HBO Saturday, April 19th at 9e/p.

For as long as Billy Crystal’s storied comedy career is, Crystal has only done two other comedy specials, both on HBO. A Comic’s Line (1984) and Don’t Get Me Started (1986), along with a short lived Billy Crystal Hour and comedy album entitled Mahvelous! (1985), comprise the majority of available Billy Crystal solo performance work and now, nearly 30 years later, Crystal is finally returning to TV sans a tuxedo and The Oscars telecast.

As one of the highest grossing non-musical productions on Broadway, along with the boatloads of praise that 700 Sundays has garnered since it first premiered in 2005, it’s no doubt something you should put on your lists of things to watch when April arrives. Until then, you can listen to Billy Crystal’s episode of the Nerdist Podcast.
