As always, a great conversation which took some unexpected turns. I’ve seen Phil over the years on Mad TV and heard him on Futurama, so it was fun getting to know more about him. As a kid my family moved to the Philadelphia area for a while, so it’s interesting how many times I have heard former Philadelphians talk about their connection to the city.

  2. Just my two cents: I found the audio quality quite acceptable. Yes, you had to listen very closely on a number of occassions, but the wind didn’t blow that much :-).

  3. Ross says:

I remember Ace Trucking doing these bizarre carpet commercials in a variety show(can’t recall which one)–they called themselves “The Celanese Fortran Players”.
Why do you worry about putting sugar in your tea? I myself grew up drinking tea straight or with a bit of lemon, but the Brits dump sugar and milk in almost to a man–something I cannot make myself like. So, be open, Tom– come out of the tea-condiment closet!
    Keep up the great shows…

We love your pod casts! Keep up the great work.
Let the haters hate. People always got to hate people who are actually busy DOING things. Haters love to bring people down, since most of them are so depressed they feel others should be brought down to their level. Depression is a real illness, we just need to keep spreading the Love and humor, at least the haters are listening 🙂 We can always pray that their hearts can be healed.

  5. Ryan says:

Tom I love the podcast and don’t mind the internet trolls, they just need a hug.

  6. Kevin says:

He acknowledged that the audio had problems in the intro so I doubt we will have this problem again in the future. I’d rather that there was an episode with audio problems than no episode at all.
So people should rein in your internet rage and allow people to make mistakes and grow from them.
    Good episode I enjoyed it.

  7. Zac says:

You’ve got to be trolling with this episode, Tom. I normally think complaints about the audio are overblown, but this is the exception. I’ve had issues with the audio of Big Pop Fun before now, but this episode really takes the cake. Did you even listen to the audio before you posted it? There are whole sections that are completely inaudible. What’s so disappointing is that the stuff I heard was pretty interesting. I would have rather you not posted anything at all this week rather than post this. In the future, I’ll hope you refrain from trying to record a podcast outdoors with the wind blowing past you. I understand you were caught off guard by Phil’s cat, but outdoors is not a solution. I would have rather you recorded this sitting in your car again.

  8. Jay says:

It takes guts to put out a product that anyone on the internet can listen to and judge without recourse.

To know that two guys who’ve put out some of the greatest pop culture known worldwide; to know that it was even a POSSIBILITY that it HAS happened…

    That’s what makes this special.

Keep on with your passions Tom and thank you for letting us hear awesome stuff like this from time-to-time.

  9. Rick says:

I kept hearing about how great Nerdist was, how they were top notch podcast. This is the first thing I listen to, what a horrid piece of sh*t. Beyond disappointed.
