Steve Oedekerk has written and produced The Ace Ventura movies, The Nutty Professor movies, Bruce and Evan Almighty, Kung Pow: Enter The Fist, Cowboys and Aliens, and lots more. His work has earned in the neighborhood of two billion dollars, and he talks to Tom Wilson about dolphins, movies, and how movies end up with a small village full of writers on the credits. Enjoy!

Loved High Strung (which you both were in, I just remembered), loved Kung Pow, Loved the Thumbs series…
On the non-standard stand-up discussion, Reggie Watts comes to mind with his occasionally dadaist double-talk and musical improvisation. He seems to be doing pretty well so far with the breaking through.
Hmmmm…I love Carlin, Monty Python, etc…Didn’t like Kung Pow. Should’ve asked Steve why he looked like 70’s-era (non-Fonz) Henry Winkler in that…great interview.
Great stuff
Great interview by Tom as usual. Interesting insights into script development and stand-up. Hope you get to Ace Ventura, one of my childhood favorites, in part 2.
so what Steve is saying is there is alot of sand in dolphins vagina.
