Just north of San Francisco, there is a magical treasure trove filled to the brim with Star Wars collectibles – and anyone can visit. Rancho Obi-Wan, a non-profit museum run by Steve Sansweet, houses the largest private Star Wars collection in the world. That fact has been verified by Guinness World Records. To get an idea of what you’ll find inside the museum, read about our tour of Rancho Obi-Wan that took place last summer.
Like any non-profit organization, Rancho Obi-Wan has costs associated with operation, and they’ve announced two fundraisers for 2014. The events will allow you to bid on Star Wars collectibles and give money to a good cause. It’s a win any way you look at it.
First on the list is Rancho Obi-Thon. The seven day long auction will take place on eBay beginning on March 2 at 12pm PST. You’ll be able to bid on original artwork, autographed posters, fan made collectibles, and much more. You can preview the auction items now and start planning.
The second event also begins on March 2. Rancho Obi-Wan Dupe Deals, items Sansweet has duplicates of, will be listed on eBay. Sansweet is donating the items from his collection to the auction block, and proceeds go towards keeping Rancho Obi-Wan running. Dupe Deals come with a certificate stating the collectible is from the world’s largest Star Wars collection.
Who else is looking at the preview page and making a wish list?
