Chocolate artist Jen Lindsey-Clark is giving the Easter Bunny a run for his money. Last year she created a life-size edible Benedict Cumberbatch which took her 250 hours to make. Now sheâs got it down to a science and is churning them out like…rabbits? Literally. This time she went smaller and, well, weirder by creating an Easter confection with the body of a bunny and a face of an angel. That angel being an incredibly detailed sculpt of Cumberbatchâs face.
Dubbed “The Cumberbunny,” this chocolate treat weighs in at 400 grams (~0.88 lbs) and is available in milk or dark chocolate. The surface is hand-glazed with an edible luster dust and is billed as “a delicious Belgian chocolate rabbit with a handsome face and a tasty bottom.” Uh, somehow it just got weirder.
The details are actually stunning. Clearly, Cumberbatchâs hair and eyebrows are his key features. The chocolate bunny ears seem to fit almost too perfectly upon his head and the dapper candy is topped off with a perfect little bow tie. As well all know, bow ties are cool, even on chocolate bunnies.
This unique Easter candy will set you back a cool £50 ($70 US dollars) but hey, itâs shelf stable for up to 6 months should be unable to bring yourself to immediately consume these masterpieces.
The idea of these strange confections randomly showing up on peopleâs doorsteps with no warning seems like the best Easter prank ever. The Case of the Cottontail Cumberbatch. Why it sounds positively Sherlockian.
Would you eat a Cumberbunny this Easter? Would you start with the ears or straight away with the face? Let us know in the comments!
