Ben Affleck Confirms His BATMAN Movie’s Title

It has a Caped Crusader, a director, it even has a villain, and now Ben Affleck‘s solo Batman movie has a title, though it’s not “definite” it won’t be changed.

We came across the news at The Hollywood Reporter, where—during a press junket for his new film The Accountant—Affleck told the Associated Press that the working title for his solo Batman film, which he will both star in and direct, was, in fact, The Batman. But don’t get too excited—he did say it “might change.” The news is probably not too much of a surprise to many of you, as this has been the rumored title for awhile now, despite being the first real confirmation.

This is just one man’s simple, humble opinion, but I like it: it’s simple but immediately differentiates itself from every other Batman movie. It also makes way more sense than if they called it A Batman (that would imply more than one Batman, which would be weird), or The Bat Vigilante, a phrase that makes me want to pour hot wax in my ears.

He also said that work on the script is going well, and that he is “really excited about it.” It was just last month that it was confirmed Joe Manganiello will play the villain Deathstroke in the film, after Affleck tweeted out footage of the character in action in late August, so we might expect news about the film to continue to come spilling out as he gets further along in development on The Batman.

But what do you think of this title? Is it “the” way to go, or is this a dud? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
