Here you go, Peter Jackson showing off some behind-the-scenes footage from the set of The Hobbit. You don’t get anything from the dailies, but you do get wardrobe and makeup preparation, motion capture, sets, and some of the cast, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, and Martin Freeman, on the set and at the welcoming ceremony at the start of filming.
And so it begins.
omgrichardarmitagesqueeeee!!!!!!
I am so excited about this – actually got teary at the end. But I’m nervous about the 3-D stuff, because at this point all it does it make me nauseated.
don’t tell me it’s gonna be in fucking 3D, that would destroy the movie
Should be OK now. Until they do another take-down.
Youtube video got copyrighted take down. Anyone know where I can find another version of the video?
Looks like a blank screen to me. But that’s ok still got half a stiffy.
It only took the first few notes of music to remind me how much I truly loved the LOTR movies. I got stupidly giddy hearing about “new sets of Rivendell” and seeing little Martin Freeman wander around in Bilbo’s house. I can’t wait for more vids and, of course, the movie itself.
I am so looking forward to returning to Middle Earth!
Peter Jackson looks great.
Freeman and Armitage …. I can already tell it’s going to be good.
Wow. My Bilboner is raging!
And now on to my real thoughts… had spotted that and wanted to get it out there for the benefit of the readers.
Awesome! Great, now I’m going to be addictively checking theonering.net every day hoping for more video blogs. Can’t wait!
Can you change the embed to this one? It’s available in HD, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGu8I4tnvWs&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
Wow. Do movie productions usually start with this kind of opening ceremony? The production notes should be subtitled “fellowship of the reels”.
The most amazing thing about this video is how much weight Peter Jackson has lost! So excited to see this movie, but why does it have to be in 3D? Some of the dwarfs look hot! Too bad it’s going to be covered up with fat suits and beards.
Wow! This really shows how behind I am, here I thought Guillermo del Toro was going to direct The Hobbit. It feels good to be out from under my rock.
