Bebop and Rocksteady Spotted on Set For TMNT2

As time goes on we are getting to see more and more from the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. From the inclusion of certain characters and what we have seen of costuming, it seems that this film is trying its best to capture more of the spirit of previous TMNT films and TV shows than the reboot did last year. On top of Arrow‘s Stephen Amell joining the cast as fan-favorite Casey Jones, the movie will see the first feature film versions of villains Bebop and Rocksteady, who were made famous in the 80s cartoon version of TMNT. Over the weekend, JoBlo reported on pictures (via Splash News) from the set that showed Gary Anthony Williams and the WWE Wrestler Sheamus as the pre-mutation versions of the duo, Anton Zeck and Ivan Steranko. Their look is true to the punk rock style seen in the cartoon, and adds a less “dark and gritty reboot” feeling to the sequel.

It had not been confirmed until fairly recently that Sheamus, born Stephen Farrelly, would be joining the cast of the movies as the second half of this gruesome twosome. Thought it seemed to sit in rumor for a little while, the casting was finally confirmed when Farrelly posted a selfie with fellow cast members on Twitter.

It seems the role that Farrelly would end up filling was the one that many believe his former co-worker, CM Punk, had auditioned for recently. This comes hot on the heels of Punk mentioning in an interview that he was very interested in pursuing the role of Casey Jones that Amell would inevitably take. Sure would have been an interesting twist to see Punk take on Sheamus once again, only with the help of giant mutant turtles.
