Batman and Wonder Woman are pretty busy dealing with Steppenwolf in the  Justice League movie, but they will soon team up for yet another mission in the comic book world. DC has announced, via The Washington Post, that Wonder Woman and Batman will headline a new six-issue Brave and the Bold miniseries that will bring the two heroes into some very unfamiliar territory.
Batman starred in the original Brave and the Bold comic book series in 1955, which often paired him up with different heroes each month, and headlined the Brave and the Bold animated series that premiered in 2008. Although Batman is once again getting top billing in this miniseries, writer and artist Liam Sharp told the Post that it will be Wonder Woman who drives their current story.
According to Sharp, Wonder Woman will become involved with the apparent murder of an Irish god, which is a mystery that will have ties to Irish and Celtic mythology as well as Wonder Woman’s Amazon legacy. Because Batman is renowned as “the worldâs greatest detective,” Wonder Woman requests his help to find the killer.
Sharp has been having a career renaissance at DC, following his acclaimed run on Wonder Woman with writer Greg Rucka. Sharp also indicated that his new story will take place shortly after his last Wonder Woman issue, and that she will still be in a relationship with Steve Trevor. That said, Sharp also hinted that his story may touch upon the potential romantic spark that Wonder Woman and Batman have shared in other stories.
The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman #1 will be released on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
