As all Batman fans know, this month marks the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Dark Knight’s first appearance in Detective Comics #27. Thus far we’ve been gifted with a reveal of the next screen Batman — Ben Affleck — as well as animated shorts from beloved Batman artists Bruce Timm and Darwyn Cooke. Now it’s time for an unofficial treat — someone has taken the introduction to Timm’s Batman: The Animated Series and redone it in live action. The end result is pretty damn cool: something familiar and at the same time decidedly different.

But don’t take our word for it — take a look and see for yourself.

I particularly like the fact that it walks that fine line between being too detailed and too simplistic. It’s affectionate without being overly reverent. Kudos to all responsible.
