Batman Looks Pissed In The ARKHAM ORIGINS Launch Trailer

The launch trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins is out today, showing us that Batman never takes a holiday off when it comes to fighting crime. In this case, it’s more like covering his own ass.

This installment of the series takes place before the first two Batman games, when Batman was still a fresh little crime fighter with no one, not even the Gotham City PD, on his side. Crime kingpin Black Mask has managed to piss off the Dark Knight by placing a bounty on his head. Players will get to free roam and rampage the streets of Gotham City in search of the villain, as well as up their arsenal and train for combat situations in the Batcave.  As you can imagine, there will be tons of iconic Batman adversaries to tangle with along the way. Check out the trailer below to see if you recognize anyone.

zeldaboy411 / i think lego star wars the complete saga is the best lego game.also on some riveews they always forget to say lego star wars has the most levels in any lego game. p.s nice review.

Without Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman this game already is a disappointment. The fact is, it FEELS more like I am playing Batman when I hear his voice.

I don’t know, I’m still not sold on this. Newcomer WB Games Montreal has exactly TWO games under their belt, one for Wii and one for PC browsers. I know the game assets came from Rocksteady, but I’m already disappointed with the look of the game. Maybe it’s just the trailers not doing it justice, but the combat doesn’t look as fluid as it did, and the combat is absolutely the number one reason to play the “Arkham” games. I was so damn addicted to the Challenge Rooms, it was out of control. That combat… oh God. Never have I ever seen combat so diverse, yet so fluid looking, so mechanically brilliant, and yet requiring a level of player skill to master. Every combat game should take a page from Rocksteady’s book. If WB Games has made any heavy changes in that area, I’m out completely.

Also, what the hell is with recasting Batman and Joker? Drop staples Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill for Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker, respectively? I mean, I loved Smith as Ezio in the Assassin’s Creed games and Baker as Joel in The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock:Infinite, but that choice just seems to be made for no good reason whatsoever.
