Man, that David Tennant is really committed to evil, isn’t he? Following his role as Kilgrave on Netflix’s Jessica Jones and as the demon Crowley in the upcoming Good Omens, our beloved Doctor is feelin’ downright bad to the bone. All of which is confirmed in the upcoming crime thriller, Bad Samaritan ensuring Bad Tennant is a trend (because of the rule of three).
The major details of the film seem to be fairly spelled out in the trailer: Tennant plays a well-to-do psychotic kidnapper (killer?) whose horrific actions are stumbled upon by a petty thief, played by Irish actor Robert Sheehan (Misfits), running a valet robbery scheme.
Now, most of us here at Nerdist and, more than likely, a good chunk of our readership will always look at David Tennant as a hero from his time on Doctor Who, but his ability to play a villain is something of which we just can’t get enough.
Judging from the trailer, it’s safe to say we’re going to see Sheehan’s character go from criminal to hero while Tennant will have the chance to play the worst of the worst with the added bonus of being an upstanding citizen to almost everyone else in the film.
Bad Samaritan hits theaters March 30th, 2018.
