Baby Groot Looks Adorable In LEGO

Everything and everyone is Groot – even LEGO bricks. The dancing baby Groot scene at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy will be remembered for a long time. It was a moment of sheer joy and cuteness that’s hard to top and darn near impossible to forget. Baby Groot was so popular that I’m surprised Marvel hasn’t figured out a way to launch a new comic book series based on the sapling. I might purchase a $4 comic every month for 22 pages of baby Groot swaying his branch-arms back and forth.

The sapling version of Groot inspired countless fan creations in mediums including pen and paper, yarn, clay, and LEGO. Builders Sean and Steph Mayo created LEGO baby Groot as a commission for Beyond the Brick’s “Creations for Charity” (it was a 24 hour livestream that happened in late November). The figure stands in a white pot, and it looks like the trunk and the top of Groot’s head were built from cone-shaped LEGO pieces. The little sprouts on top of his head are my favorite.

And because you can never have too much baby Groot, here’s another LEGO take on the little guy by Jack M.

Dear LEGO: you need to turn baby Groot into a set and sell it. I will purchase it and so will many others. At the very least, how about a minifig? Please and thank you.

Of all the baby Groot items you’ve seen this year, which has been your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

  1. My favorite is my Official Dancing Baby Groot, mostly because he’s, well, official. And he busts a move.
The link below is to a still I took of him- go a couple of entries down and you’ll see him in action (before I took his instructions/label off).
