B.J. Novak Joins COMMUNITY’s Two-Parter Season Finale

Holy Starburns, Batman: B.J. Novak — The Office alum, newly published author, and Alistair Smythe to-be (in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2) — has thrown his hat into the already impressive ring of guest stars on NBC’s Community. And not only that, but the multi-hypenate is slated to appear in part one of a two-parter finale for the series’ current fifth season. Cool. Cool. Cool, cool, cool.

In the episode, recent Nerdist podcast guest Novak will play what is being described as “a TV star in a sexy new series,” but the exact specifics of his storyline are being kept way under wraps. If it has to do with television, we can’t help but hope he’ll go head-to-head with Abed in some epic and trope-laden quest. Currently, the the first half of the finale is slated to air on NBC in April.

Novak joins an expansive roster of guest stars drummed up for the Dan Harmon series’ fifth (and potentially final) season, including the recently seen Nathan Fillion, David Cross, Chris Elliott, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, as well as two well-known showrunners: Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, and Arrested Development’s Mitch Hurwitz. The students of Greendale Community College return to airwaves on February 27th.
