Action-Crazy FREE FIRE Trailer Is Full of Stray Bullets Galore

From director Ben Wheatley (High Rise, KillList, and the recent Doctor Who episodes “Into the Dalek” and “Deep Breath”), comes Free Fire, a new shoot-’em-up in which just about everybody takes a bullet at one point or another. Trapped in a warehouse after an arms deal goes bad, two Boston gangs decide that shooting their way out is the best—if not necessarily the brightest—decision. And it’s set in the ’70s, so no cell phone calls for help are allowed.

After much critical acclaim but several aborted attempts to become a star (I will stand by The Lone Ranger as amazing and misunderstood with my last breath, however futile that cause may seem), Armie Hammer might finally have his big leading-man breakthrough behind a bushy beard. Meanwhile, Brie Larson appears amusingly less than superheroic as she’s likewise caught under fire. Sharlto Copley‘s cardboard armor is a hoot, and I can’t wait to see if it actually works; also, it’s cool he gets to use his natural South African accent rather than faking Southern or something like that for no reason. Ditto Cillian Murphy, re: his Irish brogue.

And if none of that sells you, maybe the executive producer credit given to a fellow by the name of Martin Scorsese will. We hear he knows his way around movies full of folks wielding guns.

Who will make it out alive? Which character actor would you attach yourself to in such a survival situation? And will those gunshot wounds get infected? Fire off your thoughts in comments below.
