The Russos Ask Fans (and Tom Holland) Not to Spoil AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

After years of build-up, Avengers: Infinity War is less than a month away from hitting theaters. But with the release date in sight, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo have issued a personal appeal to fans asking them to keep tight-lipped about the film’s secrets once they’ve seen it, as not to spoil any of their fellow MCU lovers who won’t be able to catch a screening until later on. Most intriguingly, their message suggests the movie’s “true plot” has not yet been revealed.

Here is the complete text of the Russo brothers’ message:

“To the greatest fans in the world,

We’re about to embark on the Avengers: Infinity War press tour. We will be visiting fans all over the world screening only a limited amount of selected footage from the film in order to avoid spoiling the story for future viewers.

We will not screen the film in its entirety until the Los Angeles premiere shortly before the film’s global release. Everyone involved with the film has worked incredibly hard for the past two years maintaining the highest level of secrecy. Only a handful of people know the film’s true plot.

We’re asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain that same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time. Don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.

Good luck and happy viewing.”

Given his well-documented reputation for spilling the beans, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland couldn’t resist replying to the Russos’ heartfelt plea.

But what secrets could the Russos so desperately be protecting? We’re fairly certain the film will end with a cliffhanger, despite the Russos’ insistence that Infinity War will stand alone before the still officially untitled Avengers 4 next year. But what about the lead-up? Will Infinity War focus less on our heroes and more on Thanos than we’re expecting? Will any of our favorite characters kick the bucket? Lots of big moments are in store, to be sure, but which ones do you think the Russos are worried about? Share your Infinity War theories below!
