Is There Another CAPTAIN MARVEL Easter Egg in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR?

The final moments of Avengers: Infinity War leaned pretty heavily on the imminent arrival of Captain Marvel, a heroine who some comic book movie fans may not know. That’s going to change next year when Brie Larson headlines the Captain Marvel film before playing a significant role in Avengers 4. Infinity War might have more than one shout out to Larson’s MCU character, too. Today’s Nerdist News looks at a clue hidden in plain sight which could suggest Captain Marvel has faced the Children of Thanos before.

Join host and Kree infiltrator Jessica Chobot as she goes over a fashion choice made by Cull Obsidian that went largely unnoticed until Infinity War was released digitally. Now that we know to look for Cull Obsidian’s sash, we can’t help but think about Captain Marvel. The red, blue, and gold colors match the signature look of her costume.

It’s worth noting the Cull Obsidian statue from Sideshow features a sash with different colors, but as you can see in the below picture the movie clearly went in another direction. Now, it could be a coincidence, but we’re thinking that choice is more than just chance. After all, there’s going to be a 25 year gap between Infinity War and Captain Marvel. It’s entirely possible she’s confronted Thanos and his children before.

Alternately, the sash may have belonged to Mar-Vell, the previous Captain Marvel. Jude Law will portray Mar-Vell in the Captain Marvel film. Could Cull Obsidian be responsible for Mar-Vell’s fate in the MCU?
