Who Is the Better Avatar: THE LAST AIRBENDER’s Aang or THE LEGEND OF KORRA’s Korra?

The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are two of the most beloved Nickelodeon cartoons ever, and if we asked fans to pick which show is better we’d risk setting off a war that lasts 100 years. But there’s nothing wrong with some friendly competition between two honorable participants, so on this week’s Animation Investigation, we’re entering the hexagonal field of the pro-bending league to definitively determine who stands as the better Avatar: Aang or Korra?

On the newest episode of our series dedicated to exploring every cell and pixel from across the ‘toon world, host hector Navarro breaks down the battle of the Avatars by comparing Aang and Korra head-to-head in three categories: abilities, failures, and accomplishments. Whose skills are more impressive? Who did more to save the world? And which one caused more suffering when they came up short?

We know half of you are very happy with us right now, and half of you are ready to go full Sozin Fire Lord on us by burning down the internet, but their Avatar résumés speak for themselves (and we swear our choice had nothing to do with Korra herself, Janet Varney, joining us on our Alpha series Talkin’ Toons). Though when choosing between Aang and Korra there’s no wrong answer, because they were both great Avatars.

But just to make sure we don’t set off a war between fans maybe we shouldn’t try to determine which show was better.

Did we bend your opinion on which Avatar is the greatest? Tell us in the comments section below if you’re Team Aang or Team Korra.
