Artist Brings Book Covers to Life in Cool GIF Series

There is nothing like a good book coming to life for a reader—figuratively speaking, of course. If it does so literally, then it is dark magic and that is just terrifying and you should probably stay away.

Luckily, Chilean art director Javier Jensen stuck to the figurative sense with a series of GIFs he has created that bring the covers of some of the most famous books of all time to life. Jensen’s work jumps around the classics section of the library to touch on all kinds of iconic works. From Dr. Seuss‘s Green Eggs and Ham to JRR Tolkien‘s fantasy adventure The Hobbit, even a the slightest bit of movement brings an interesting bit of character to these books we’ve all known and loved.

“I wanted to go back to the books that made us live, dream and believe in different things and reflect what I always imagined when I looked at their covers.”

Jensen undertook the project for no other reason than to have a bit of fun with the books he has loved for a such a long time. And honestly, what better way than to use a little bit of his video magic normally used in his job at a publicity firm? You can check out the rest of Jensen’s living book covers in the gallery below, and some of his other work that Jensen posted on his Behance page.
