Art from the MR. SHOW Show is Fantastic, Weird

Hey, L.A., what are you up to out there? If you’re not rushing out to see Days of Future Past and setting some mad, early Memorial Day plan in motion, you really need to hit up The Mr. Show Show at the NerdMelt Showroom inside Meltdown Comics, and it enters its final two days. And we’ve got a gallery featuring some of the BEST pieces from the show (show) for your enjoyment.

The gallery event, with dozens of artists participating, celebrates the beloved cult HBO sketch series Mr. Show, which, if you’re reading this site, you’ve more than likely come across at some point. Oh, you haven’t? For shame.

The series – created by Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), and David Cross (Arrested Development, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret) – ran for four seasons on HBO, spawning the gloriously absurd movie Run, Ronnie, Run (which maintains the distinction of being one of only two movies launched by HBO comedies alongside Pootie Tang).

Here’s a rundown of the event from The Mr. Show Show page, along with some of the raft of artists participating:

“The exhibition will feature works of art inspired by Mr. Show with Bob & David created by a diverse group of talented artists from Los Angeles and beyond. Join us opening night for special guest appearances by cast members, live music, and lots of antics sure to ensue.

There will be free drinks provided so you can have yourself a champagne jam. Remember the night forever by getting your photo taken at the Drugachusetts photo booth.

Artists include Kelsy Abbott, Aaron Alexovich, Eric Alleman, Lindsay Ames, Zachary Baker, Eric Bauza, Jessica Bright, Emily Brundige, Mingjue Helen Chen, Tony Christopherson, Nico Colaleo, Victor Courtright, Cheyenne Curtis, Jack Cusumano, Owen Dennis, Dekker Dreyer, Liezl Estipona, Nolan Fabricius, Mark Fasanella, Jenny Fine, Kali Fontecchio, Thom Foolery, Greg Franklin, Kate Freund, Charles Giglia, Matt Gourley, Sarah Graley, Anna Hollingsworth, David Huntsberger, Austin Ivansmith, Robert Iza, Jert, Ke Jiang, Molly Johnson, Toby Jones, Josh Karp, Seo Kim, Dave Kloc, Danielle N.
