Robbie Amell and Rachael Taylor Loop Through Time in ARQ Clip (Exclusive)

Ever since we first heard about Orphan Black and Hunter writer Tony Elliott’s crackerjack little time travel project, the Netflix original film Arq, we were pretty excited. A dystopic time travel film with a dash of Groundhog’s Day/Edge of Tomorrow, the film had its debut in early September at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it was met with excitement and approval from critics and fans alike. And now the Robbie Amell (The Flash, Tomorrow People, and The X-Files) and Rachael Taylor (Marvel’s Jessica Jones)-starring film will make its debut on Netflix this Friday, September 16. Though thanks to us, you won’t have to wait that long to see a sneak peek of it!

In an exclusive look at the film, the clip above shows a couple named Renton (Amell) and Hannah (Taylor) arguing over the specifics of keeping and/or hiding their time travel device, the titular Arq. With a war waging outside between a shadowy, iron fisted megacorp named Torus and a rebellion group known as The Block outside trying to take control of it, too, their choices feel more like a lesser-of-two-evils situation than anything else. How can you know who to trust? And is the central conceit twist—no spoilers here!—going to get in the way of Renton’s decision? We won’t give away any secrets here, but trust: you’ll want to check this one our on Friday when it premieres.

Are you looking forward to Arq? Let us know in the comments below!
