Arby’s Says Goodbye to Jon Stewart, and Their Rivalry, with Class and One Last Laugh

It seems no one knows how or why the “beef” between The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart and the fast food sandwich slingers at Arby’s. For years, Stewart would occasionally take the opportunity to make a joke about the authenticity of the meat used at Arby’s, or how unhealthy and soul crushing it is to eat there. It all seems to be in good fun, though, and Arby’s has been happy to fire back on occasion, even offering him a new career choice upon his announcement that he was leaving The Daily Show.

Now, as Stewart’s final episode draws closer by the hour, Arby’s has extended the olive branch to say that they will, in fact, miss him with the above commercial running on Comedy Central today. The commercial takes a fond look back at their feud, while the current spokesperson for the restaurant chain sings a rendition of the theme song to The Golden Girls. Even with this touching, and humorous farewell, it would be quite the surprise if Jon didn’t try to get one last jab in at the fast food restaurant. It seems Arby’s is also expecting Jon to go down swinging.

The first commercial, won’t be the only commercial, though; Arby’s has also decided to honor the comedian in a way he probably never would have imagined…or wanted. The restaurant chain will also be introducing a new sandwich to their menu in Jon’s honor. Yes, Stewart’s legacy will live on…as one of the very sandwiches he always poked fun at.

Game, set, match: Arby’s.

Let us know your favorite slogan Stewart ever gave Arby’s, and let us know if you plan on tuning in for the last episode tonight with us.
