ANT-MAN Takes on Science Fair Danger in First Disney XD Short (Exclusive)

While most members of the Avengers spend their off-hours still doing pretty high-level action stuff (Tony creates new weapons technology, Cap goes on covert missions, Thor… is a god), Scott Lang (a.k.a. Ant-Man) lives that family life, trying to be a good dad to his six-year-old daughter Cassie. But that doesn’t mean he can’t get into some minuscule-gargantuan adventures in relatively normal surroundings, right? Most supervillain attacks happen close to home, the old saying goes. That’s why Disney XD’s new series of animated Ant-Man shorts are so refreshing; bite-size superheroism from the comfort of your own abode.

Check out the first short, entitled “Science Fair.”

Just when you think a relatively simple task of shrinking down to put forgotten baking soda into your daughter’s volcano is going to go off without a hitch, your arch-enemy Yellowjacket flies in out of nowhere and wants to spar. (Who hasn’t been there, right?) But, at least Scott gets the upper hand, with the strategic help of a hamster. And giant cheese. The animation in this short hearkens back to the classic days of Marvel comics, and the art style of Ant-Man co-creator Jack Kirby. Big, bold colors and expressive faces along with some amazing action makes this 90-second video worth watching on repeat.
