Anna Kendrick Reboots INDIANA JONES in Red Nose Day Video

Red Nose Day is coming to the United States! The biennial event is a longstanding tradition in the UK in accordance with the larger charity Comic Relief and is routinely a smashing success at raising money for impoverished children in both the United Kingdom and Africa. The gist is simple: be kind, be funny, raise money. The televised portion of the fundraiser airs on the BBC across the pond, and NBC will be airing the event for our first Stateside edition.

In keeping with the tradition, celebrities, comedians, and television personalities record and debut comic sketches in advance of the event, which is how we have the good fortune of seeing Anna Kendrick take over the role of Indy in the above video. Comedian and actor Brett Gelman–who during a scene in last night’s Mad Men finale was wearing decidedly less than the Templar Knight get-up he’s wearing here–is the Chalice guardian with the witty repartee. (“Have you even been to college?” “No, just knight school.”)

NBC will be airing Red Nose Day live on Thursday night, May 21st, so be sure to tune in and watch the three-hour special full of live music, sketch comedy, and parodies like the one above. The official website is already filling up with promotional videos, photos, and comedic bits for you to enjoy. Even Kathy Lee and Hota got in on the Red Nose action, and they’re unintentional comedy gold! If you’d like to get your own official Red Nose, head to your nearest Walgreens. Half of the $1 price tag goes directly to the fund.
