Andy Samberg, Judd Apatow, THE HUNTSMAN, 3XKeri, and a Logo: The Week In Podcasts

Greetings from a hospital waiting room in fabulous Los Angeles! Long story and you don’t even want to know how I went in the space of a week from Hollywood to Vegas to a decidedly less glamorous location, but it does mean that I have to be briefer than usual in telling you what you (and, for some of it, I) missed this week if you didn’t listen to everything we had for you on the Nerdist Podcast Network. Even someone as exhausted and mildly panicked as I will concede that it was, as podcast network fortunes go, a good week. The evidence:

*Andy Samberg visiting You Made It Weird with talk about music, a nickname for Benedict Cumberbatch, career stuff, and lots more.

*Judd Apatow returning to the Nerdist Podcast‘s 800th episode (!) to talk about remakes, Garry Shandling, Twitter, and standup.

*Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain also stopping by the Nerdist Podcast for a chat about acting, childhood, veganism, and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.

*Not one, not two, but THREE times the Jonah Keri — he’s tall, but that’s a lot of real estate to occupy — as he guested on Chewin’ It and doubled up with two episodes of The Jonah Keri Podcast, first with Everything’s Coming Up Podcast hosts Allie Goertz and Julia Prescott for talk about all things Simpsons, then with Martin Starr for talk about Silicon Valley, Freaks and Geeks, and the Clippers.

*Anthony Weiner — yes, scandal-ridden ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner, really — talking Islanders hockey on Puck Soup, which also dealt with the NHL’s stepped-on-logo controversy, because somehow that’s become a big deal.

*Orphan Black‘s Kristian Bruun talking about his paranormal experiences with a solo Bowser on Bizarre States.

*Our ol’ pal Graham Elwood eating food from Mi Corazon in Glendale courtesy of chef and tattoo artist Jeremy Swan on Dining with Doug and Karen.

*Our ol’ pal Steve Agee comparing beards with Razzle on Today We Learned.

*Laurie’s odd tale of writing a best-selling book on The Jackie and Laurie Show.

*Tawny Newsome of Seeso’s Bajillion Dollar Properties reminiscing about her younger days on The JV Club.

*Playboy TV Cougar Club star Psalm Isadora on Sex Nerd Sandra.

*Another Cashing In with T.J. Miller, and YOU try to summarize one of those.

*Dice creator Scot Armstrong on The Writers Panel.

*George O’Connor talking about The Olympians on Comic Book Club.

*Part 2 of Round Table III on Pro You.

*A remix of the Only In Japan episode of The Legacy Music Hour.

*More hot crossover action with The Nerdist Season‘s Gil Dominguez-Letelier on Love, Alexi.

*Versatile voice talent and singer Grey Griffin (you may know her better as Grey DeLisle) on Pop My Culture.

*Alex, Alison, and Tom talking space stuff on Half Hour Happy Hour.

And there should be a new Clonecast up for all your Orphan Black needs; it wasn’t ready quite yet when I wrote this, but keep an eye out for it. Where? Why, where all of these shows live, at the Nerdist Podcast Network homepage and Facebook page, where you should subscribe. Now, back to waiting. Last week, I’m riding elevators with pop stars. This week, beeping monitors, lots of people in scrubs, and bad hospital cafeteria cheesesteaks. At least I have plenty of podcasts to keep me company.
