And Now… A Sneak Peek at ABC’s FOREVER

Ever wonder what would happen if they crossed Sherlock Holmes with Ichabod Crane from FOX’s Sleepy Hollow? Well, ABC has the answer and his name is Dr. Henry Morgan, the illustrious medical examiner in New York City. Played by the typically very Welsh Ioan Gruffudd, the man at the center of Forever has a secret: he’s been alive for over 200 years and he has absolutely no idea why. Guess being able to study the dead is a pretty convenient job to have then, eh?

That’s the premise of the series set to premiere this fall and below we’ve got your first preview of the whole shebang — an interesting choice of words you might say, considering the whole thing is just a sweeping look at Gruffudd’s naked body. Although we are also extremely curious about that water. Also: does he sleep at the morgue? We totally believe him when he says it’s a long story. It would have to be to explain all of that.

With the help of his best friend Abe (Judd Hirsch) and his Detective partner Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza), the trio help Morgan on his quest to figure out just why and how he’s still alive. Is he one of a kind? Are there others out there like him? And could the whole thing possibly, one day, just stop? Will Jo ever figure out his secret? Will there be enough flashbacks of Morgan’s recent and long-forgotten past, complete with silly period-appropriate outfits? Fingers crossed.

What would you do if you woke up one day to find you were immortal? Let us know in the comments.

Makes me want to watch Highlander again… but then, most things make me want to watch Highlander again…

Gruffudd is an actor who has never, for me, really looked comfortable, (in fairness discomfort was a big part of Hornblower, he was supposed to be out of his depth, and his Reed Richards was, in my opinion, poorly written as a nerdy bumbly fool, hence more discomfort), hopefully being 200 years old will give the character a bit more of a grounding so he can cut loose a bit.
