And Here’s The “Doctor Who” Series 6 Second Half Trailer

This is the trailer for the second half of Series 6 of Doctor Who, as featured at today’s panel at Comic-Con:

August 27th, 9 pm, 8 Central, BBC America.

(Note: While I was posting this, Kyle Anderson, our resident expert on all things Doctor, was readying his own version. I’ll just include his comment from the simultaneous post: “W-T-Fuck? I have no idea what’s gonna happen, but I’m excited as shit to find out.” I think he speaks for pretty much everyone)

    Hello,

I just finished a four week summer art class and one of my fave students built a Tardis. He is ten and is all great things of nerd culture. It isn’t just his depth of interest in things but his ability to empathize and see things from other people’s viewpoint. Ok so maybe I have a crush on a ten year old nerd. I hope with all this talk of nerds that boys and girls like him will be more appreciated. In other words that in high school girls or boys will find them attractive because they are passionate about ideas.

Anyway, Simon got transferred to my class because some bullies (that’s what the Vice Principal called them) were giving him a hard time. He came in the first day and was a sad sulky squished little man. I showed him around the art studio and told him he could make anything he wanted. He replied I like British things.

That morning riding over (yes on a bike, I’m and art teacher what do you expect?) to class that morning I was listening to The Nerdist and you all were having some Dr. Who chat. So I had Dr. Who in my head and the fact that you all are working with the BBC.

So I opened my mouth and said – Do you know about the show Dr. Who? And his response was of such joy. His whole face lit up and he said – I love Dr. Who. My Dad just came back from England and brought me all the action figures from the BBC store.

He looked around the room and up at me and said “I’ll build a Tardis.” And so he did. Using mostly found objects stuff people normally throw away his Tardis was a great success. He brought in books about the Tardis and happily worked his tardist to make the Tardis.

So I present to you Simon and his Tardis.

Thanks for helping me turn a sad little kid into a creative, hard working nerd tweener.

    Keep up the good work.

well considering the first half of the season contained 5 classic scooby doo plotted episodes out of 7 and a combined hour of rewatch-ability… yay?

  3. poopsie says:

duuuude, that matt smith. I’d let his sonic screwdriver in my tardis ANY DAY. heh heh heh 😉

  4. Dammacx says:

@ PinkMnM LOL Tim Roth would make an interesting Doctor – Too bad he is kinda out of sequence age wise.

  5. Joan says:

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEeee get me a paper lunch bag GASP HEHEHEHEHEHEHE

  6. Kyle says:

Wishing I had a TARDIS of my own to go to August 27th. Holy fucking shit I can’t wait!

  7. katie says:

I’m gonna with with an exclamation of FUCK and YES.

  8. Gabriel says:

I don’t understand why the weeping angles are good monsters. If you know you are going up against them it seems like all you need are a couple of people and some sledgehammers. One person looks at the angel and someone else takes a sledgehammer to it. You do this in rounds and by the end you have a pile of rubble. They seem like you have to go out of your way to make them dangerous.

  9. Magnoliafan says:

I was a little surprised that Hardwick didn’t stick around for the Doctor Who panel on Sunday.

  10. Mike says:

I think I’ve figured out how the Doctor survives the astronaut (not giving spoilers tho since it involves an earlier episode) but I’m VERY intrigued at what brings Hitler into this.

  11. HK says:

Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!

  12. Patrick Rose says:

Ahh, hello weeping angels. You have been the best monster EVER.

  13. Jake says:

I think I saw the eye, of the Face of Boe in there but I’m not sure. It’s right after the doctor says “I’m going to die!”. You be the judge.

  14. Emily says:

Oh. My. God. Can not wait. Looks like there’s a lot to happen in this second half. Plus tons of new monsters, so that’s a definite plus. And Moffat’s such a cheeky bastard for putting a clip of the Doctor saying “Haven’t you figured it out yet?” after mentions of his death….

  15. PinkMnM says:

    Dear shooting star,
I wish for new writers and for Tim Roth to be the 12th Doctor.

  16. Anyer says:

I’m still not getting over Rory punching Hitler. Fuck me, what a badass.

    That and River’s eye patch…

WHY ISN’T IT AUGUST 27TH YET?!

  17. Rekabmot says:

    Feels a lot like Pandorica.

Still really want to see it. As hot as it has been for the last 60 days I would welcome the continuous goose bumps.

  18. Josh says:

I’ve watched it four times now, and it still doesn’t make any more sense…

  19. Art says:

    Oh my..

    GOD

This is gonna be incredible. Obviously they’ve lost some people with the scale of story telling but they haven’t lost me! This is the season that people will remember as Matt Smith being the best Doctor ever.

  20. Wesley Marshall says:

Perry my mind has been thoroughly blown!! Thank you!

  21. mechas8n says:

Is that a Nimon at 33 seconds and smashing through the window a few seconds later?

  22. ericdano says:

    Nerdgasm in 3…2….ahhhh…

  23. August 27th can’t come soon enough.
