An End of Summer Playlist for FYF Fest

Summer is sadly waning, but we are finna go out with a bang. This weekend (August 22-23) in Los Angeles the always impressive FYF Fest is boasting two days full of bands and artists that I have been dying to see for years (read: D’Angelo, Frank Ocean, Morrissey, and The Jesus and Mary Chain).

The 12-year-old festival has grown steadily throughout its tenure in LA, and as of 2015 ranks among the best of them. It is two days, so you are not ruining your body to attend the entire event; the lineup is diverse, featuring hip bands, rising stars, and classic performers; and the site is walkable and manageable/walkable unlike many major festivals that make you wish you had fancy robot legs.

To prep for this festival and to bid adieu to another excellent summer, I have crafted a fun lil playlist above with artists that will be attending this year’s FYF. Moreover though, the mix is ideal for those listless post-Dog Days and relaxed evenings near any warm body of water. So gather your friends, turn on your bluetooth speaker, and pass some time before the leaves start to change.
