Amy Poehler To Be Fallon’s Last Guest, Meyers’ First Guest on LATE NIGHT

As announced earlier, Jimmy Fallon will have Will Smith and U2 as his first guests as the new host of The Tonight Show. But what about Late Night? In perhaps a symbolic bridge in eras of comedy, Amy Poehler will be both the last guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon before Fallon goes to The Tonight Show on February 17th and the first guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers. We can expect that these will both be heartfelt, funny episodes, and it gives more exposure to NBC’s latest overall deal signee.

Meanwhile, Billy Crystal, who was Jay Leno’s first guest on The Tonight Show, will also be his last, bookending the run with a February 6th appearance. That’ll be a span of over 20 years, and we can hope that it’ll be something along the lines of Bill Murray’s appearance on the 20th anniversary of The Late Show with David Letterman; Murray was Letterman’s first guest on the show.

There’s no word yet on who Conan, Kimmel, Letterman, The Daily Show, Colbert, Pete Holmes, Arsenio, etc. have booked on those days, but that should be equally intriguing.

I also am wondering what happened to Amy Poehler being Fallon’s last guest. Nothing against Andy Samberg, but I was looking forward to Fallon and Meyers both having her

  3. Claire says:

The last episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon just aired and Amy Poehler was definitely not there. What happened?
