AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR Gets a LEGO Makeover

Among the many things I want to accomplish in life, two big ones are touched on in this video. First, to have a Lego version of myself made; and second, to ably participate in American Ninja Warrior.  Taking into account that I consider beer and pizza two of my primary food groups, I doubt I’ll be scaling Mount Midoriyama anytime soon so I don’t think the latter is possible. But I suppose as a bald guy with a penchant for monochromatic shirts, I have the blank mini-fig as a fairly spot-on approximation of myself by default. So… I guess I sort of accomplished one of them?

I may have lucked into looking exactly like a Lego figure, but some of the famous faces from American Ninja Warrior were given the ultimate toy-related honor by being animated into this Lego Ninjago short. Characters from the series, Jay and Master Wu, have a few moments in the spotlight; but what’s incredible about the short is the real-life cameos from actual Ninja Warrior contestants. Voicing their Lego counterparts, hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila give the play-by-play of each run of the newest obstacle to the show “The Big Wheel.” Lego-fied versions of competitors Meagan Martin, Kevin Bull ,and Lance “Cowboy Ninja” Pekus all complete it with the same ease their real-life counterparts undoubtedly would. The real treat, other than Pekus’ cowboy version, is the nod to to Kevin Bull’s game-changing technique from his 2014 run. In it, Bull took a rather different approach to an obstacle called Cannonball Alley by using his legs to literally back-flip to victory. You can see it in action at about the 2:40 mark.

What other TV shows would you want to see Lego-fied? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
