AMERICAN HORROR STORY Twist Revealed, SUPERNATURAL Stickers, and More TV Updates

Every season of American Horror Story (AHS) has been different from the others, but season six’s documentary style storytelling has made it especially unusual. A preview for the next installment of AHS: My Roanoke Nightmare reveals a twist with that situation, and you can see said preview in today’s TV-Cap. You’ll also find some Supernatural stationery, Let the Right One In casting information, and a new clip for Dirk Gently.

Behind the Camera. Next week brings the sixth episode of the current season of AHS, and though the documentary approach isn’t going anywhere, it’s time to flip the camera. The above promo is brief, but it gives you a look at the people working on the My Roanoke Nightmare documentary. Cheyenne Jackson’s character tells his camera person to keep rolling no matter what. It looks like things are going to change. [TVLine]

Of Course They Are. MTV’s no stranger to scripted series with shows like Teen Wolf and The Shannara Chronicles on their schedule. They’re eyeing another drama for their line-up: a series based on H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds. A contemporary take on the story is in development with writer Andrew Cochran and executive producer Jeff Davis attached. [CBR]

Starring Roles. For those of you keeping tabs on on TNT’s Let the Right One In pilot: they’ve cast Benjamin Wadsworth as Henry and Thomas Kretschmann as Inspector Eriksson. [Deadline]

Connecting Humanity. Star Trek has been part of pop culture for decades, and it’s lasted for a reason. Wired talked to President Obama about the franchise and how it influenced him. Obama discusses the relationships, how the show encourages problem solving, and the creativity Star Trek inspires. Get his full comments in the above video. [Nerdist]

National City Bling. After the fun Supergirl season two premiere, I bet I’m not the only one ready to display my adoration for Kara Danvers. If you need some super Supergirl gift ideas, head to the latest Home Geekonomics and start shopping.

SPN Merch. Speaking of cool merch, Con*Quest has a just released line of official Supernatural journals, stationery, and accessories. See Exhibit A: the cool long-handled tote bag above. See their whole collection here at Nerdist. [Image: Con*Quest Journals]

Different Television and Cute Critters. BBC America will drop Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency into our laps on October 22, and they stopped by New York Comic Con with a new clip and a behind-the-scenes look at the series. The latter has shots of a corgi and a little kitten. What else do you need? No, seriously, this quirky series based on Douglas Adams’ book looks like it’s going to mix all sorts of elements, and I’m curious to see if/how they pull it off. [Slashfilm]

Narrate This. The presidential election has certainly been something else. But if you need a little relief along with some fact-checking, watch YouTuber NeverCaesar’s take on the first debate. He uses Ron Howard’s voiceover from his Arrested Development narration to enhance and fact-check the debates, and since we like seeing Arrested Development combined with things… [Nerdist]

Bad Dreams. Aubrey Plaza has landed a pilot order at TBS with her comedy horror anthology Nightmare Time. She’s writing the series with Darcy Fowler, Kieran Valla, and Seth Kirschner. Set in a Nightmare Clinic, each episode features celebrity guests arriving to work on getting past recurring bad dreams. [Deadline]

Season Premiere City. Two shows returned to The CW last night with their season premieres. Read my recap of Supernatural’s season 12 debut, and read Blair’s review of Legend of Tomorrow’s sophmore season outing. Then, for something completely different, go back in time and check out Michael’s latest Game of Thrones Re-Throned.

What do you think will happen when the camera flips on the next American Horror Story? Tell me in the comments.
