AMERICAN HORROR STORY Is Coming to Universal Studios

FX might still be keeping the theme of this year’s American Horror Story season under wraps — rumor has it that it will be based on the Manson family, although that’s not confirmed — but here’s a bit of amazing news for fans of Ryan Murphy‘s yearly horror anthology series that should have you super stoked. Universal Studios has teamed up with FX to bring American Horror Story to life in an all-new terrifying maze at Halloween Horror Nights in both the Hollywood and Orlando theme parks, starting on September 16. Fans will be able to go through a maze featuring elements from three different seasons of the series — Season One (Murder House), Season Four (Freak Show) and Season Five (Hotel).

According to the press release, “twisted scenes from Murder House will unleash the evil spirits that possess the Harmon estate, spiraling guests through decades of the tortured dead who previously resided there. In Freak Show, guests will join a troupe of biological misfits in a sinister sideshow where they’ll be stalked by the murderous and deformed Twisty the Clown. Finally, guests will succumb to the warped desires of the Countess after checking in to the haunted Hotel Cortez, conceived from the beginning as a torture chamber for its customers.” You can see a teaser trailer for the new American Horror Story experience above.

In a statement, John Murdy, Universal’s  Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights, said “American Horror Story has been the number one requested maze from our guests and we’re excited to let them know that we listened to them and are bringing American Horror Story to life.” He added that the series “is one of the most disturbing television shows ever produced, and with such perverse storylines unfolding with each installment, Halloween Horror Nights is undoubtedly the only place that could create a living version of the nightmares that Ryan Murphy dreams up.”

The addition of AHS to Halloween Horror Nights solidifies this as one of the greatest maze line-ups ever in Universal’s history — the Hollywood location is also debuting an Exorcist maze this year, along with Krampus, Freddy Vs. Jason, Halloween II, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Which means for the first time ever, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface will all have mazes in the park at the same time. Orlando will have an almost identical line-up. If you were ever planning on attending Halloween Horror Nights, then this is definitely the year to do it.

Universal Halloween Horror Nights begins on both coasts on September 16, and American Horror Story season six premieres on FX on on Wednesday, September 14.
