Alicia Vikander Discusses Her Lara Croft, TOMB RAIDER, and More on FANGIRLING!

Few women in games are as badass and iconic as Lara Croft. The ass-kicking, peril-escaping Tomb Raider protagonist has been a major player since the early aughts, but her latest reboot—in game and movie form—finds a much younger Lara Croft learning the ropes of what it takes to raid all them tombs. Truth be told, it may be our favorite Croft interpretation to date. When embodied by Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander, Lara Croft feels like a real girl, and not one made for the benefit of fanboy wet dreams.

Which is why we were BEYOND PUMPED to have Vikander in-studio here at Fangirling to talk what drew her to Lara, what makes her version different, what video game she wants to see Lara in next (spoiler alert: it’s a very good one), and one of our favorite movies ever: Ex Machina.

Tomb Raider is out in theaters RIGHT NOW! What are you waiting for?
