Aladdin Costume with Working Magic Carpet Wins the Weekend

There’s little about the streets of New York City that are shining, shimmering, or splendid (in my humble opinion), but tell me, readers, now when did you last see a guy on a magic carpet zipping through the streets?

The guys over at YouTube’s PrankvsPrank gave NYC a little magic a few days ago when they took to the streets on a motorized skateboard customized to look like a magic carpet.

Titled “Aladdin Magic Carpet Prank,” it’s less of a “prank,” so to speak, and more just a “thing they did.” Nomenclature aside, it doesn’t make the creation of PrankvsPrank’s Casey Neistat any less awesome. In this day and age, we’re all accustomed to seeing people dressed up this time of year, but nothing could prepare onlookers for seeing Aladdin (Jesse Wellens) whizzing by on the streets of NYC. Even if you weren’t a fan of the movie, it’s a delight to see bystanders look on with unfettered nostalgia-driven joy on their faces.

Bringing the magic carpet to life like this seems like something Disney parks should have been doing for years (and likely will after seeing this video), however it’s surprising how elegantly simple the build was with some PVC piping, a bit of fabric, and a Boosted Board.

There’s no doubt in our minds that this will be the inspiration for dozens of Halloween costumes for years to come!

What do you think of the video? Where would you take your Boosted Board carpet to turn some heads? Let us know in the comments below!
