It’s hard to ignore the strange allure of Adventure Time’s Ice King. Sure, he may often come across as a buffoon, but that doesn’t change the fact that times his appearance and actions are – though intentionally — off-putting and just a little creepy. However, as artist Chase Stone has so wonderfully shown in a new custom portrait, when the character is teleported into the real world, his appearance actually becomes a little sorrowful:

Aw, poor Ice King. All he wants to do is find some people to hang out with. Unfortunately, all he has are his trusty penguins to keep him company. In truth, we actually wouldn’t mind playing a round of chess with this version, which comes off more like blue Dumbledore than anything else.

The rest of Stone’s work (Stone also serves as an artist for Magic: The Gathering) is a slew of amazing imagery that would serve well both on a computer screen and hung inside a lovely frame on the living room wall:
