As Jake the Dog once said, I love food more than people. Any Adventure Time fan knows that episodes often revolve around the love of a good meal. Now thereâs an official Adventure Time cookbook to feed this addiction, full of recipes straight out of the Land of Ooo. Cartoon Networkâs Emmy and Peabody Award-winning show Adventure Time has characters that look like cinnamon buns and royalty with names like Breakfast and Bubblegum Princess, so you know that food is an important part of this fandom. Going on eight seasons, it’s about time that the crazy cuisine of the show becomes a reality.
And as it turns out, thereâs a story to this cookbook: Finn the Human happens upon a partially disintegrated cookbook, which he takes it upon himself to complete, using typical shmowzowian language.
Of course, if this book were left to Finnâs own devices, itâd be a disaster. Luckily, the recipes were created by Jordan Grosser, who has over 13 years of experience in the culinary industry, along with writer Christopher Hastings, with photos by Andria Lo. The book does a great job of bringing Finn and Jakeâs onscreen culinary adventures to life.
We foiled the Ice King and have been allowed to exclusively show you a recipe from the yet-to-be-released cookbook, and believe me when I tell you itâs totally algebraic. We at Nerdist enjoy our burritos, and the iconic Adventure Time Everything Burrito recipe is right here and ready to be made.
Wrapped up in the biggest tortilla you can find is skirt steak, pickled onion, avocado, cilantro, jalapeno, cheese, more cheese, sour cream, and, of course, tater tots. You can always add different ingredients to make it your own, as long as you wrap it all up in the end and swaddle it like a burrito baby.
Fans will recognize recipes from the show like Jakeâs Most Delicious Sandwich, Hamburger Monster, and the tunetacular Bacon Pancakes. In the end, Finn advises you to make every recipe in the book to host a Minerva Feast. Prep time? About a day, to be safe. Oh my glob, this book is delicious.
Adventure Time: The Official Cookbook hit stores on November 29.
