Adam West and William Shatner Face Off in BATMAN VS. TWO-FACE Preview

While it would have been amazing if the live-action Batman TV series of the ’60s had cast William Shatner as Harvey Dent and his evil alter-ego, the new Batman vs. Two-Face animated movie is scratching that itch while giving us one more performance by the late Adam West. And in a newly released preview scene, West and Shatner share the spotlight as the Caped Crusaders come looking for Two-Face.

Comic Book Resources initially shared the preview, and it left Batman and Robin bewildered by Harvey’s apparently normal face and demeanor. That’s actually something that happened a lot in the early years of Two-Face. Cures would come and go, but they just wouldn’t take. It’s probably for the best, since Two-Face is easily among the best Batman villains ever created.

For this movie, Two-Face’s origin was reworked to incorporate several other classic Batman foes, including the Joker, Hugo Strange, and the Riddler. Prior to the clip posted above, King Tut and Bookworm pulled off some capers that seemed to indicate the return of Two-Face. Of course, there’s more going on than meets the eye.

West’s fellow Batman ’66 veterans Burt Ward and Julie Newmar also reprised their roles as Robin and Catwoman, respectively. And while this is apparently the end of the road for this animated incarnation of Batman, at least we will get to hear West’s Bright Knight one more time.

Batman vs. Two-Face is being released on Blu-ray and DVD today, Tuesday, October 17.
