Adam Green’s Halloween Short Stars Sid Haig as a Swearing Pumpkin

It’s become a Halloween tradition for Hatchet director and Holliston creator Adam Green to create a new short film. And this year’s installment is ratcheting up the insanity!

Via Entertainment Weekly, Green’s ArieScope Pictures has released “Don’t Do It!,” a short that casts Chase Williamson as Ben, a man who may be on the edge of insanity. On Halloween, Ben found himself in a conversation with Robert the Pumpkin, as voiced by horror icon Sid Haig. Fair warning: Robert did not hold back on the bad language, and this video is definitely not safe for work!

The inherent conflict of the story is simple: Ben simply wants to carve Robert into a Jack-o’-lantern, while Robert will do and say anything to keep that from happening. The easiest explanation for this is that Ben is losing his mind. Remember, pumpkins don’t speak! And they certainly don’t have mouths. Unfortunately for Ben, he found that he couldn’t quite get Robert to shut up. It didn’t take long at all for Robert to get Ben to roll with the insanity, but we’re fairly certain that Ben was pretty gullible to begin with. After all, he fell for the whole “magic pumpkin” thing, and who does that?

Like any good horror tale, there’s a twist late in the film that turns everything on its head. And while there may be a new Jack-o’-lantern on the porch, it’s not gonna be the pumpkin!
