ABC Gives Jimmy Kimmel A Two-Year Contract Extension

Without CBS or Comedy Central making a move to fill in their respective to-be-vacant 12:35 AM or 11:30 PM spots, ABC has played its hand by re-upping their late night star Jimmy Kimmel for two more years. This contract extension will have Kimmel at ABC until the beginning of 2017.

This is definitely shaping up to be a fascinating 2016 for the late night world at 11:35 PM alone, as Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel are set to go head-to-head-to-head. Let’s also not forget Conan O’Brien, who starts at 11 PM, as well as Colbert’s replacement at Comedy Central, who will take 11:30 PM.

Personally, I’m excited to see how much farther Kimmel can take his rivalry with Matt Damon, another Movie: The Movie sequel, and more viral crowdsourced pranks.
