ABC Developing AGENT CARTER Show

ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has yet to even premiere, and already it’s looking like another Marvel movie spinoff program is in the works. Deadline is reporting that the alphabet network is in talks to adapt the One Shot short film Agent Carter, which will be an extra on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray, into a television show.

The short, directed by Marvel Entertainment’s co-president Louis D’Esposito, brings back Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Steve Rogers’ left-in-the-lurch romantic interest from Captain America: The First Avenger, as she deals with being put on desk duty after the events of the film. Not to give anything away about the short, which is amazing, the ending does seemingly set up a continuing adventure for Carter in post-WWII New York City. Whether Atwell will return for the show is unknown, but I would certainly hope she does, because she’s brilliant. Watch this space for any news as it develops, and check back here on Tuesday for an interview with Agent Carter‘s director, Louis D’Esposito.

I think the short is fine ,I believe a full on show will get tried-some after a while . Maybe a few short TV movies will do just fine . Heck creative an anthology show called “Marvel Universe ” and explore many different aspects of the universe .

Disney (parent company to ABC, Marvel, and others) would do well to get rolling on an entire Marvel based network. Between all the cartoon series, both current and past, the movies, and now the live-action TV series, they would never be at a loss for content. Throw in some reality shows (for casting of upcoming movies, special effects, or animation) and it’s a perfect cable network. I personally think that Punisher and Daredevil would make far better Prime Time shows than movies anyway, and you could introduce cross-over characters for the movie universe.

I LOVED the video short — it was all kinds of awesome. Agent Carter makes me think of Sidney Bristow from ALIAS. More kick ass women on TV please!! Please!!
