A VERY MURRAY CHRISTMAS Now Has a ’90s Infomercial

This holiday season we’re all getting a wondrous gift, a Bill Murray holiday special, and it’s loaded with some of our favorite stars singing our favorite Christmas songs. Oh, and George Clooney singing a totally ridiculous one that should be a classic.

This second trailer for the Netflix original, A Very Murray Christmas, is done in the style of a classic holiday album commercial, and it has lots of stars singing some of your favorites, they are just a lot funnier about it.

The “commercial” advertises a track list that includes a rendition of “Sleigh Ride” with Murray and Miley Cyrus;“Silent Night” from Cyrus with Paul Shaffer on the piano; “Do You Hear What I Hear” featuring Murray and Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph singing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home”; Jason Schwartzman and Rashida Jones doing a duet of “Only You”; and, amazingly, George Clooney singing “Santa Clause Wants Some Lovin”.

The trailer even ends with a phone number to call to place your order (I’ll save you the disappointment, it’s just the Netflix phone number), but all you need to do to see A Very Murray Christmas on December 4 is be a Netflix subscriber. The feature is directed by Sophia Coppola, and it’s actually a meta-holiday special, one that is really about Murray’s attempt to put on a special during a terrible snowstorm.

It’s weird to think this is already a Christmas-movie staple when we haven’t even seen it yet, but I’m just going to go ahead and say it is. I mean, did you see Chris Rock performing “Do You Hear What I Hear?”

What are you most looking forward to about this special? Sing it in the comments below.
