You do not have to be a sports fan to love this pretty unbelievable 360-degree panorama of Wembley Stadium during the FA Cup final. First, go check it out, wheel around, zoom in and out, and then we’ll discuss:
Jeffrey Martin of 360Cities.net, who’s done panoramas of things like the London skyline, took a DSLR camera on a robotic mount and snapped over 1,000 high-resolution images that have been stitched together and processed on a Fujitsu Technology Solutions Celsius R670 workstation with 192 gigabytes of RAM and 24 CPU cores. The result: a 10-gigapixel panorama that’s about as amazing as any sports venue photo you’ll find. You can zoom in to any section of the stadium and see faces of individual fans, and they want people who were there to tag themselves in the photo. The details on how he did it are here.
But the process isn’t finished, so there are a few glitches. And the result is that there are some disturbingly mutated people in the shot.
Which way are they looking? Any way they want. And they don’t even have to move their necks. The guy with the glasses on top of his head looks especially robotic, almost like the Android mascot.
In this section, the action has positively melted people’s faces right off. You don’t think of soccer as capable of doing that, but this is incontrovertible evidence.
And this security guy’s head has migrated a little. I hate when that happens.

I’m giggling like an idiot. Thanks! I needed that
It doesn’t appear that football is the sport of choice for attractive British ladies.
I cant wait for all the news article that will come about people breaking up or getting fired b/c they were tagged on facebook and they had either called in sick or had told their significant others they were somewhere else.
